The South
Holland Public Library is always willing to provide class visits for
your students. Any combination of youth services tours, story
hours, film programs or library instruction can be arranged.
Please
schedule your library visits at least two weeks in advance so that your
visit will be suited to your particular needs.
At any time,
teachers are allowed to check out a maximum of 30 books on a variety
of topics for four weeks. We are sorry, but these books
may not be renewed.
There is a
limit of 2 holiday books for a three week circulation period. We
are sorry, but these books may not be renewed.
Please call or
fax the library in advance to let us know when you are assigning a
research topic. Even if you don't want special handling of
materials, it helps us prepare for your students. By
making us aware of your research topics, you are helping us select new
materials for the library.
Encourage
students to share library materials. Sharing means that they
check out only a couple items at a time and return them as soon as
possible rather than waiting for the date they are due.
At your
request, a mini-reference collection can be set aside that would
contain the materials necessary for your students to complete their
work. The materials would be held in the library for the
duration of the assignment.
