Library Programs

    In addition to programs of special interest, the South Holland Public Library offers story hours, book discussion groups, reading clubs, and video presentations as regularly scheduled events.

Regularly scheduled programs include film presentations and book group discussions. Special programs are held periodically throughout the year.

Pre-Registration is required for most programs.

Building a Better Memory For Life

Wednesday, March 10 at 1:30pm

Holly Hofer will cover how researchers are examining the memory process, causes for why we forget, and strategies for remembering better.

Pre-registration is required and begins February 20.

Oxcart Ramblers Band

Thursday, March 18 at 7:00pm

The winter blues will be blown away while listening to this band play and sing old-time string mountain music. Enjoy some ballads, gospel tunes and square dance music from earlier times.

Pre-registration is required and begins February 27.

Film Presentation: Alaska & Yukon Territory

Thursday, April 1 at 1:30pm

Film Presentation.

Preschool Story Hour

Thursdays, Now thru March 18 at 10:30am
Ages 3 - 5

Introduce your child to the treasures of the Library and the pleasures of books. This six-week program series includes stories, songs, and a variety of activities.

Pre-registration is required and begins January 28.

K.I.T.S. Book Club

Saturday, March 20 at 10:30am
Grades 4 - 8

Enjoy a great book each month and then join your peers for a lively discussion and snacks.

Pick up a copy of this month's book, "The Library Card" by Jerry Spinelli, in the Youth Services Department beginning March 6.

Pre-registration is required and begins March 6.

Wacky Wednesdays

Wednesdays, March 24 thru April 14 at 3:45pm
Grades 1 - 3


Join us for an hour of wacky stories, games and crafts.
