The following online resources are available to South Holland Public Library cardholders.

	EBSCOhost Online Databases The EBSCOhost database contains several separate components, including the MasterFile index, which references over 2,690 general interest periodicals; the Newspaper Source, covering selected newspapers and wire services; Health Source Plus, accessing over 270 health periodicals; Clinical Reference Systems, containing over 7,000 reports on various medical topics; USP DI Vol. II, which contains drug information for the layman. All of these products can be searched with keywords, and are friendly for the novice and the experienced searcher. EBSCOhost está también disponible en Español.
	NoveList NoveList is an electronic readers' advisory resource which assists fiction readers in finding new authors and titles.
	EBSCO Literary Reference Center The EBSCO Literary Reference Center (LRC) is a highly graphical interface intended for public, academic and high school libraries. The primary goal of LRC is to assist high school and undergraduate English and Humanities students with homework and research assignments of a literary nature. After logging in, click the "Literary Reference Center" link.
	World Book Online Reference Center World Book Online Reference Center, from the publishers of The World Book Encyclopedia, is your online route to up-to-date, reliable, authoritative, easy-to-understand information and an array of supplementary search tools and information sources. It can fulfill many research needs, such as the answer to a particular question, or you may want general information to help with a school assignment. And, of course, many people simply like to explore World Book, letting one topic lead them to another. Whatever your reason for using World Book, you will find a wealth of information along with tools that make it easy to find what you need.  World Book Online Reference Center also offers a World Atlas, and the World Book Dictionary.
	America's Newspapers - Includes New York Times America's Newspapers offers the electronic editions of record for valuable local, regional, and national U.S. newspapers--all in one easy-to-search database. Each paper provides unique coverage of local and regional news, including companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people in the community. Paid ads are excluded.

	HeritageQuest ProQuest's HeritageQuest provides libraries with a unique, growing collection of research materials for tracing family history and American culture. 	LearningExpress Library LearningExpress Library provides a completely interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial course series designed to help patrons, students, and adult learners succeed on testing.  You'll get immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and an individualized analysis of your results.
	eLibrary 2 Plus eLibrary 2 Plus gathers information from newspapers magazines, books, pictures, maps, and TV and radio transcripts, and everything is full-text. The searching method can be either Boolean or natural language, and the results can be displayed in a variety of ways, including by date, relevance, or reading level.
	Facts On File - News Services Databases The online version of the familiar paper resource Facts on File. It includes the same World News Digest for which they are so well known, and adds Issues and Controversies and Today’s Science. It is an excellent resource for brief yet thorough coverage of current events. For those of us needing a reminder of how quickly time passes, try looking at the Indexes feature. Skim the Subject Index, which is a topical index to news stories reaching back to 1980.
	Facts On File - Science Online Science Online presents a broad range of scientific disciplines through extensive definitions, essays, diagrams, biographies, and experiments.
	SIRS Knowledge Source A general reference database that contains thousands of full-text articles exploring social, scientific, health, historic, economic, business, political and global issues. Articles are selected from more than 1,500 domestic and international newspapers, magazines, journals and U.S. government publications and may be accessed instantaneously. Articles are archived from 1989 to the present. Many articles are accompanied by graphics, including charts, maps, diagrams and illustrations.
	Columbia Granger's World of Poetry Columbia Granger's World of Poetry includes 13,000 poems in full text, and 250,000 poetry citations, in addition to several features—commentaries, biographies, bibliographies, notes on form, and a glossary of prosodic terms.
	Grolier Online Passport Grolier Online includes five encyclopedia databases: The New Book of Knowledge, The New Book of Popular Science, Lands and Peoples, Amazing Animals of the World, and America the Beautiful. Search any or all of them for what you need to find!

	OCLC FirstSearch The OCLC FirstSearch service connects you to information in a wide range of subjects in 16 different databases.
	Illinois CLICKS! Illinois CLICKS! is an information website with quality Internet resources, reviewed and selected by Illinois librarians, well-organized for easy access by all Illinois citizens.
	ThomasNet (Formerly Thomas Register) Thomas Register is the most comprehensive online resource for finding companies and products manufactured in North America where you can place orders online, view and download millions of Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings, and view thousands of online company catalogs and websites.
	ILLINET Online ILLINET Online is a resource sharing system for ILCSO Libraries - 45 college libraries around the state.
	Community Organization Guide (COG) An ongoing project of the Reference Association of South Suburban Libraries (RASSL), COG is designed to list non-profit organizations and agencies of the South Suburban Chicago area, which offer services and programs to the general public. The COG provides access to information about more than 600 community organizations and educational, cultural, recreational and social service agencies which provide a wide array of support and assistance to people of all ages and interests.
	Dictionary.com Dictionary.com is an online dictionary. Find definitions to words, and help with spelling. Also featured is a thesaurus for finding synonyms for words, and an encyclopedia for searching information.
	CIA World Factbook The CIA World Factbook is an online database available to the public. The Fact book provides basic statistical information about the nations of the world. This is a great resource for primary and secondary students.
	AGRICOLA - AGRICultural OnLine Access AGRICOLA is a bibliographic database of citations to the agricultural literature created by the National Agricultural Library and its cooperators. Production of these records in electronic form began in 1970, but the database covers materials in all formats, including printed works from the 15th century. The records describe publications and resources encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines.
	ERIC: Educational Resources Information Center ERIC is a national information system designed to provide ready access to an extensive body of education-related literature. Established in 1966, ERIC is supported by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement and is administered by the National Library of Education (NLE).
	MEDLINEplus MEDLINEplus is a gold mine of up-to-date, quality health care information from the world’s largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. MEDLINEplus is for anyone with a medical question. Both health professionals and consumers can depend on it for accurate, current, medical information.
	Refdesk.com Refdesk.com is a one-stop site for all things Internet: news, weather, sports, reference, encyclopedia, facts on file, dictionaries and encyclopedias, tutorials, search engines, Windows Operating Systems Resources, free stuff, games and much more. Over 20,000 quality links.
	Rand McNally Rand McNally is one of the top websites online to get maps, directions, explore destinations, and research just about any travel information you may need to help you plan a trip.
	FDA Consumer Health Information The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) provides this new consumer website for staying up-to-date on timely health information. You can sign up to receive the FDA's free e-mail newsletter, and browse many topics online to stay informed.
