EBSCOhost
Online Databases
The EBSCOhost database contains several separate components,
including the MasterFile index, which references over 2,690 general
interest periodicals; the Newspaper Source, covering selected newspapers
and wire services; Health Source Plus, accessing over 270 health
periodicals; Clinical Reference Systems, containing over 7,000 reports on
various medical topics; USP DI Vol. II, which contains drug information
for the layman. All of these products can be searched with keywords, and
are friendly for the novice and the experienced searcher.

NoveList is an electronic readers' advisory resource which assists
fiction readers in finding new authors and titles.

Reference Center
The EBSCO Literary Reference Center (LRC) is a highly graphical interface
intended for public, academic and high school libraries. The primary goal of
LRC is to assist high school and undergraduate English and Humanities
students with homework and research assignments of a literary nature.

Online Reference Center, from the

2 Plus eLibrary 2 Plus gathers information from newspapers magazines,
books, pictures, maps, and TV and radio transcripts, and everything is
full-text. The searching method can be either Boolean or natural language,
and the results can be displayed in a variety of ways, including by date,
relevance, or reading level.
Facts On File - News Services Databases The online version of the familiar paper resource Facts on
File. It includes the same World News Digest for which they are so well known,
and adds Issues and Controversies and Today’s Science. It is an excellent resource for
brief yet thorough coverage of current events. For those of us needing a
reminder of how quickly time passes, try looking at the Indexes feature. Skim
the Subject Index, which is a topical index to news stories reaching back to
1980.

SIRS
Knowledge Source
A general reference database that contains thousands of full-text articles
exploring social, scientific, health, historic, economic, business,
political and global issues. Articles are selected from more than 1,500
domestic and international newspapers, magazines, journals and U.S.
government publications and may be accessed instantaneously. Articles are
archived from 1989 to the present. Many articles are accompanied by
graphics, including charts, maps, diagrams and illustrations.

Community Organization Guide (COG)
An ongoing project of the Reference Association of South Suburban Libraries
(RASSL), COG is designed to list non-profit organizations and agencies of
the South Suburban Chicago area, which offer services and programs to the
general public. The COG provides access to information about more than 600
community organizations and educational, cultural, recreational and social
service agencies which provide a wide array of support and assistance to
people of all ages and interests.

Dictionary.com is an online dictionary. Find definitions to words, and help
with spelling. Also featured is a thesaurus for finding synonyms for words,
and an encyclopedia for searching information.
CIA World Factbook
The CIA World Factbook is an online database available to
the public. The Fact book provides basic statistical information about the
nations of the world. This is a great resource for primary and secondary
students.
AGRICOLA
- AGRICultural OnLine Access
AGRICOLA is a bibliographic database of citations to the agricultural
literature created by the National Agricultural Library and its
cooperators. Production of these records in electronic form began in 1970,
but the database covers materials in all formats, including printed works
from the 15th century. The records describe publications and resources
encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines.
ERIC:
Educational Resources Information Center ERIC is a national information system designed to provide ready access
to an extensive body of education-related literature. Established in 1966,
ERIC is supported by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of
Educational Research and Improvement and is administered by the National
Library of Education (NLE).
MEDLINEplus MEDLINEplus is a gold mine of up-to-date, quality health care
information from the world’s largest medical library, the National Library
of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. MEDLINEplus is for anyone
